Spiritual and Mental Clutter

Though I've posted links to Glynnis Whitwer's blog before, I was especially moved by her post today on quieting our hearts, minds and souls so that we can hear God's voice.

I hope you find it meaningful.

(Disclaimer: Though I enjoy Glynnis' blog and often read her devotionals, she has no idea who I am!)

  1. A friend told me the other day that she was trying to help her small daughter with a huge insecurity. "Not all our thoughts are true," she told her. "They're not?" her daughter responded, amazed. "No," she said. "And you know how when Mommy gets the mail, sometimes she throws junk mail right into the trash? That's what it's like with our thoughts, too. We have to decide which thoughts are true and which ones are junk mail--and then throw them away."

I thought this was such a helpful image to think about decluttering our thoughts. Is that thought true or is it junk mail that needs to be pitched?
